DORSAL WINES
Cloverdale, CA
Rarely does one encounter a set of wines that are at once so esoteric and so approachable as those of Dorsal Wines. That has been our experience with every single bottle of Devin Alexander Myers’ wines since we first discovered them a few years ago at a fair in California. Singular and not-constrained to a certain style, yet never short of unabashed joy, each cuvée challenges the drinker, whilst giving them a reassuring hug.
Devin works with organic vines from all over Sonoma and Mendocino counties. After spending a few years working alongside his mentor Caleb Leisure and compatriot Pete Bloomberg of Llewellyn Wines at a collective space in Cloverdale, Devin relocated to a remote stretch of Mendocino coastal ridge near the hamlet of Elk in 2025, where he now makes his wine in a small cellar just steps from his home, and only a few miles from a new home vineyard he fars himself.
Devin only ages his wines in stainless steel, and never makes any additions. They are generally aged for under a year, and given around 6-9 months to rest before release.
To put into words the joy that these wines convey, and how they transmit the moodiness of life on the extremes of the Northern California coast would be impossible. The best we can do is share them with you.
